You may have heard of SWIFT code, which typically referred as BIC (Bank Identifier Code). It is a code that lets banks to identify financial institutions in another country as money transfer destination.
It identifies the particular provider. You need to use SWIFT code if you want to send fund to someone in Malaysia, but you’re currently in overseas, whether it is meant for personal banking account or commercial payment.
One of the Malaysian banks that accept overseas money transfer is Bank Islam. It is a bank that was found in 1983, by providing various solutions for savings and business financing that is compliant with Shariah laws.
It offers safeguarding for customer’s wealth and investment, and also provides developing financial return. Currently, it is the largest Islamic banking institution in Malaysia with widest network, operating more than 149 branches nationwide.
The Bank Islam Malaysia SWIFT code are formatted as BISLMYKAXXX. It contains eight letters, with the first four letters meant to identify the bank, the next two letters identify the origin country, and the following two letters identify the main office location of the bank.
